    Massillon vintage clothing collector opens Akron shop to hone business

    Turns out your parents were pretty cool.    And that goes for their parents and their grandparents too. While you may have cringed at the clothes they wore back in the day, there’s a growing audience of collectors and fashion aficionados who appreciate the clothes that once graced a hanger at Kmart or a rack for those fancy pants who shopped at Polsky’s Department Store. Aaron Gascon is one of those vintage clothing nuts. What started out as a hobby scrounging around flea markets, garage sales, estate sales and thrift stores for unusual, well-loved clothing and other oddities has turned into

    New finance business opens in downtown Worthington.

    WORTHINGTON — Legacy Tax & Accounting opened its doors after a Nov. 19 ribbon cutting ceremony. The new Worthington business, located on Fourth Avenue, offers full tax services including individual, farm, partnership and any business taxes, to name a few. Though the business has limited office hours, owners Sue Johnson and Deb Olson will also provide bookkeeping services, which will cover a number of items from payroll and sales tax to accounting. “We’re open year ’round to serve the public,” said Olson. “Whether it’s extensions, tax letters, new businesses pre-tax, or consultations.” Johnson and Olson have known each other for

    The Depot entertainment venue opens in Jeffersonville | News

    JEFFERSONVILLE — A new venue offers a destination for arts and entertainment in Jeffersonville. Officials from the City of Jeffersonville presented a ribbon-cutting Tuesday for The Depot in NoCo Arts & Cultural District in Jeffersonville. The space at 701 Michigan Ave. serves as an art market and concert venue. The space includes repurposed shipping containers covered in colorful murals painted by local muralist Wilfred Sieg III, who also created the mural on the nearby water tank in the art district. The containers have been transformed into spaces for artists to display and sell their work. Starting this weekend, the city

    Stein Mart buyer opens New York clothing firm’s only pop-up store at Town Center | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

    BCI Brands, which comprises women’s clothing lines that include Vince Camuto and Chaus, will move into the former Versona store space in The Markets at Town Center. The store is called NYC Sample Sale and is a one-of-a-kind for the New York City-based company, with prices up to 80% off. It opens July 8 for four months, although the sales volume might change that. Hours will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. “The customer is going to be able to come in here and essentially update her wardrobe for not a ton of money with
