TECUMSEH – Louisville/Weeping Water baseball players took on Tecumseh this week in a pair of games on the diamond.

Tecumseh collected a comeback victory in Tuesday night’s Junior Legion contest. The team used a five-run explosion in the bottom of the fifth inning to go ahead. Tecumseh held the Lions scoreless in the top of the sixth to win.

Richland County looking to build a sports complex to attract huge travel tournaments | Columbia News

COLUMBIA — More than 90 youth baseball teams poured into northeast Columbia in April to participate in a travel tournament affiliated with Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves.

The visitors spent about $275,000 while here competing at Kelly Mill Sports Complex in Elgin. Richland County Council chairman Paul Livingston attended and offered remarks to the participants; the event was by all accounts successful and well received.

“That’s a four-field complex,” said Scott Powers, director of Experience Columbia SC Sports, which markets the area’s sports offerings to visitors. “Imagine what we could do with an eight-, 10-, 12-field complex.”

Home Depot and Lowe’s have 30% share of a home improvement market that’s heading toward $1 trillion

Home Depot Inc. and Lowe’s Cos. are two of the biggest names in all of U.S. retail, but they only have about 30% market share in the category, according to data provided by Bank of America.

Analysts led by Liz Suzuki say Home Depot

“command about 17% and 12% market share, respectively, in what remains a relatively fragmented industry.”

The two retailers have notable advantages over smaller competitors, hardware stores and others in the category, including e-commerce capabilities and access to inventory. Bank of America expects the two companies to continue to make gains.
