Windsor, a special occasion and fast-fashion retailer, that has about 230 stores in 42 states, plans extreme growth in 2021 and 2022 with the addition of another 150 stores. One of those stores will open in the midstate.

“The velocity of our business has increased substantially since the first of the year,” Leon Zekaria, CEO of Windsor said in a press release. “Post-pandemic Windsor is positioned in an ideal spot to capitalize on the return to normalcy and deliver accessible fashion for all the social events in our customers’ lives. The rapid increase in our store expansion plan is an exciting next chapter for our employees, our business and ultimately our customers.”

Windsor opened its first store in 1937 and expanded to 30 locations throughout southern California by 1997 and more than 100 locations by 2015. In 2017 the founders of Windsor, the Zekaria family teamed up with private equity partners, Sun Capital.

“Windsor Store is the one stop shop for those defining moments that matter most,” the company said in a press release. “Known for their extensive selection of moderately priced exquisite formal dresses, Windsor has been the prom dress shopping destination for years and offers unique dresses for events from graduation and homecoming, to cocktail and formal events including holiday parties and New Year’s Eve.”

Windsor focuses on women in the 18 to 34-year-old range and sells dresses, jeans, women’s workwear and swimwear as well as jewelry, shoes, hair accessories and more.

“Constantly changing in-store styles along with Windsor’s store-by-store assortment has created a ‘Nationalized Boutique’ that delivers a shopping discovery experience not found anywhere else,” the company said in the press release.

And Windsor will be opening a new store at the Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township on Aug. 26. The retailer also has a store at the Park City Center in Lancaster.

Windsor isn’t the only new tenant at the mall.

My Cellphone Repairs and home decor store, Willow & Wildfire have opened at the mall. Fashion-forward casual apparel retailer, Rue21 is expected to open at the mall on September 2. The mall has also announced that Cinnabon is expected to open this summer at the shopping center. Joseph Jacob Jewelers will open in the former Littman Jewelers space in Center Court at the mall. And American Eagle brand, Aerie is also expected to open at the mall, according to the shopping center’s website.

The Capital City Mall is located at 3506 Capital City Mall Drive. The mall is open from 10 a.m. to 9p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
