An 1880 Concord cape-style home is getting a modern update on the popular PBS show “This Old House.”
For former city dwellers Megan and Lincoln Pasquina, the pandemic made them realize they needed more space to work from home and care for their growing 2-year-old son. Now they are planning to expand and update a home in historic Concord on season four of “This Old House.”
“I grew up in the area, I always loved this horse farm that was next door. Then this house became available, and it just felt kind of like fate,” Megan Pasquina tells host Kevin O’Connor.

The episode, which premiered Sept. 30, features Megan and Lincoln giving the crew a tour of the home and sharing their vision for the property, which includes a large backyard with meadow, woods and a pond surrounded by horse farmland.
The original 1880s home is small, but has had several additions over the years, making the rooms feel cut-off from each other. The kitchen and bathroom are also small and outdated.
In the episode, it’s revealed the couple plans to expand the back of the home into the yard to maximize views of the surrounding natural area and creating a dream kitchen that flows with the living area.
The garage will be rebuilt with a brand-new master suit on the second floor, giving the couple views of their yard from their bedroom.
“They really wanted a kitchen and family room that connected to each other and really took advantage of this view,” Architect Andrew Sidford said.
The couple also wants to recycle as many materials as possible and donate whatever is left over.
