    Zoom Cooking, DIY Pizza, Riverhead Farmers Market

    The East End Food Institute has announced the grand reopening of the Riverhead Farmers Market at the former Homeside Florist and Garden Center, specifically 139 Main Road in Riverhead. To celebrate local farms and producers, they’ll launch on Small Business Saturday, November 27, and the market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekly through April 30, 2022. For the first time, the market will accept SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) and will also partner with Field & Fork Network, a Buffalo-based nonprofit that has expanded the Double Up Food Bucks program across New York.     Swiss voters back law behind Covid vaccine certificate | Switzerland

    Swiss voters have firmly backed the law behind the country’s Covid pass in a referendum, following a tense campaign that saw unprecedented levels of hostility. Early results on Sunday showed about two-thirds of voters supported the law, with market researchers GFS Bern projecting 63% backing. The police fenced off the seat of government and parliament in Bern in anticipation of protests. Results from 16 of Switzerland’s 26 cantons showed 61.9% had voted in favour of the law, on a 64% turnout. The referendum was held as the new Covid-19 variant Omicron, classified as a variant of concern by the World

    New finance business opens in downtown Worthington.

    WORTHINGTON — Legacy Tax & Accounting opened its doors after a Nov. 19 ribbon cutting ceremony. The new Worthington business, located on Fourth Avenue, offers full tax services including individual, farm, partnership and any business taxes, to name a few. Though the business has limited office hours, owners Sue Johnson and Deb Olson will also provide bookkeeping services, which will cover a number of items from payroll and sales tax to accounting. “We’re open year ’round to serve the public,” said Olson. “Whether it’s extensions, tax letters, new businesses pre-tax, or consultations.” Johnson and Olson have known each other for
